The City of Taylor is planning for future growth and is inviting residents to help shape what comes next through two upcoming public open houses concerning the City's Comprehensive Plan.
The City adopted the Envision Taylor Plan in 2021 to guide growth over the next 10 to 20 years and amended the plan in 2023. With the arrival of Samsung and the potential for significant impacts on the community, it is common practice for cities to reevaluate their growth policies and long-range plans every five years.
The come-and-go open houses are designed to gather community input on current conditions, priorities, and future needs as Taylor continues to grow. Residents are encouraged to attend, learn more about the planning process, and share their perspectives.
The first open house will be held on Monday, Jan. 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dickey-Givens Community Center, located at 1015 E. MLK Blvd.
A second open house will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Taylor Public Library Meeting Room, located at 801 Vance St.
Community participation is a vital part of the City’s planning efforts, and feedback received during these open houses will help guide future development decisions.
In case you missed it, the City is also conducting an online community survey to help guide future land use and zoning priorities. You can find the survey at the following link: https://taylorsurvey.org/
