Fire Protection Systems

All fire protection systems in the City of Taylor are required by the fire code to be inspected, tested, and maintained at least annually.  The purpose of these inspections is to ensure the system will operate properly in the event of an incident, ensuring a safe environment by minimizing the risk of life and property loss. 

The City of Taylor has contracted with BRYCER, LLC to help manage the fire protection systems inspection, testing, and maintenance program. All contractors who perform inspection, testing, and maintenance services of fire protection systems are required to electronically submit all compliant and non-compliant reports to the department via www.thecomplianceengine.com

Final Inspection Requests

For new fire protection system installations, the contractor must submit a Statement of Compliance per Section 901.2.1 of the 2018 International Fire Code.

Before requesting final inspection of the installation, where required by the fire code official, the installing contractor shall furnish a written statement to the fire code official that the subject fire protection system has been installed in accordance with approved plans and has been tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and the appropriate installation standard.  Any deviations from the design standards shall be noted and copies of the approvals for such deviations shall be attached to the written statement.
