Affordable Housing Programs:
The City administers two programs that provide assistance to qualified applicants for improvements to existing homes and the construction of new homes.
Amy Young Barrier Removal Program:
The City of Taylor, in partnership with Equity CDC (a 501c(3) nonprofit organization), participates in the Amy Young Barrier Removal (AYBR) Program through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). This program provides grants of up to $18,200 for accessibility modifications and home repairs for low-to-moderate income residents of the City of Taylor with at least one person in the household qualifying as a Person with a Disability. HOME Program:
The City is eligible to apply for HOME funds through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. The City currently participates in the Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance (HRA) of the HOME program which provides funding for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of single-family homes for eligible applicants.
