The Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide the community a safe and pleasant leisure environment by enhancing quality of life standards and improving maintenance provisions.
Within the Taylor Park System
There are:
- Seven parks and open spaces totaling 311.97 acres
- Ten tennis courts
- Lighted baseball diamonds
- Hike and bike trails
- Fishing lakes
- Playgrounds
- Picnic areas
- Wi-Fi available in Taylor Regional Park and Sports Complex, Murphy Park, Robinson Park, Bull Branch Park and Heritage Square.

- 9-hole public golf course
- Miniature golf in Murphy Park
- Water sports and camping at top-rated fishing lake ten miles north of town (Lake Granger, 4,400 surface acres) and the San Gabriel River
