TAYLOR, Texas – On Thursday, May 9th, at 6:53 P.M., Taylor Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle that struck the guardrail in the 1100 block of Carlos Parker Boulevard Southwest. The vehicle had been traveling east bound on west 2nd Street and exited onto Carlos Parker Boulevard east bound before losing control, striking and going over the guardrail, plummeting approximately 30 feet, and landing in the 2300 block of Welsh Street below the overpass. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle involved was a 2001 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck driven by Michael Alan Weber, 20 years, of Taylor. Kayla Lynn Wuensche, 18 years, of Taylor was a passenger in the vehicle. Ms. Wuensche was pronounced dead on scene by Williamson County Emergency Medical Services. Mr. Weber was transported to Seton Medical Center in Round Rock with non-life threatening injuries.  

After the investigation is complete, the Taylor Police Department will present a non-arrest case to the Williamson County District Attorney for review.

This is the first fatal collision in Taylor for this year.
