With the implementation of a Curbside Recycling Program in Taylor, the Recycle Center at 1606 N. Main St. will no longer be open on a daily basis for residents and non-residents to drop off items for recycling. The facility will close permanently at 5 p m. on Wednesday, March 28.

The Curbside Recycling program began with a rotation of recycling pickup every other week as of February 26 at residents' homes, on the days of regular trash pickup.

It was in January 2014 that Keep Taylor Beautiful was commended by City Council, as KTB helped organize and establish the Recycling Center by securing grants and developing a partnership with the City of Taylor. It also worked with Abitibi Paper Recycling to set up bins throughout the city.

The Williamson County Recycle Center at 495 CR 456 and the Hutto Recycle Center at 600 Landfill Road are alternative locations for non-residents or those residents not on the Curbside Recycle Program to drop off recycle items.

Citywide Cleanup Day

A Citywide Cleanup Day is planned for Saturday, April 21, which will allow city residents to bring bulk or other items to two locations:  1424 N. Main St. and 1200 Welch St., between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Proof of residency must be shown to staff on site, such as a utility bill or drivers license showing a Taylor address.
