Certain donations sought for evacuees from the coast

Needs of evacuees from the Texas coast who are in the Central Texas shelters are being identified by public safety officials, county agencies and municipalities, along with Austin Disaster Relief Network. At this time, clothing is not needed, aside from underwear and socks. ADRN is working with the City of Austin, which is serving as the central hub for sheltering evacuees.

In Taylor, the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce, 1519 N. Main St., has been designated a donation drop-off point. Pastor Jeff Ripple of Christ Fellowship Church is helping to coordinate the donations, working with the City of Taylor Fire Department and city management team.

Please consider a donation of any of the following:

  • New undergarments (all sizes, children and adult)
  • New socks (all sizes, children and adult)
  • Toiletries (i.e., shampoo, face wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc.)

  • New blankets
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Black trash bags
  • Mops and buckets
  • Utility knives
  • Leather work gloves
