6PM UPDATE ON BOIL WATER NOTICE
The City of Taylor's upper-pressure plane continues to be under a Boil Water Notice, which has been in effect since 10 AM today, May 20. We are currently working our way through the process to rescind the Boil Water Notice.
Flushing has been completed and water samples have been collected and submitted to TCEQ. We anticipate having the results of our water tests tomorrow afternoon.
There are three steps to rescind the boil water notice in the City:
1. First, we are required to flush the system. This is required to ensure water quality. This step has been completed.
2. Next we must collect water samples from 10 different locations as required by TCEQ and take them to the laboratory for testing. Samples were collected from all 10 sites today and submitted for testing.
3. If all 10 sites pass the test we can rescind the Boil Water Notice. If any one of them fails, we are required to flush, sample, and test again.
As soon as we have positive test results we will rescind the notice and make an announcement.
